Choice Hotels has added the first UK properties to its Ascend Hotel Collection.
The four-star Channings Hotel and five-star The Howard are both located in Edinburgh, and join just under 150 properties within the collection, including Dublin’s Gibson Hotel (see news October 2013).
The Howard, an Ascend Hotel Collection member, is housed within three Georgian townhouses on Great King Street in Edinburgh’s New Town, and features 18 rooms as well as a self-contained two-bedroom serviced apartment.
Channings Hotel, an Ascend Hotel Collection member, is situated to the north west of the city centre, and features 42 rooms within a building which was formerly home to Antartic explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton.
Both properties form part of the Edinburgh Collection, a group of four hotels located in the Scottish capital.
Choice Hotels says that its Ascend portfolio comprises “distinctive, independent hotels that are located in prime business or leisure travel destinations, providing guests with an upscale boutique hotel experience with superior service, backed by one of the world’s largest hospitality franchisors”.
