All Nippon Airways has launched in-flight wifi and live TV on several of its domestic services.
The Japanese carrier already offers wifi on its international flights, but is now expanding this onto domestic routes served by the B777-300. This includes flights between Haneda Airport and Hokkaido (Chitose), Fukuoka and Okinawa airports.
Passengers will be able to use their credit cards to purchase 40 minutes of internet access for JPY 550 (US$4.6), or for the entire flight for JPY 1,050 (US$8.8).
ANA also becomes the first Japanese airline to offer domestic passengers the choice to watch real-time TV programming on their flights. Passengers can use their mobile devices to connect to the "ANA Sky Live TV" service, gaining access to news and sport channels.
The Star Alliance member also provides on-demand children and variety programmes, as well as over 20 audio channels onboard. The entertainment service also includes access to flight maps and ANA’s in-flight shopping website.
