Top tier United members to receive free food on regional flights

21 Jan 2016 by Clement Huang

Top tier Premier 1K members of United’s Mileage Plus frequent flyer programme, as well as those that have been granted Global Services status, will now receive a complimentary meal when flying on regional services in economy.

The change allows members holding the aforementioned tiers to order one beverage and one Choice Menu food item for free on all flights within the USA, as well as those to Canada, the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America.

In order to enjoy the new perk, members should inform the flight attendant serving them of their Premier 1K or Global Services status, and present their membership card or boarding pass for confirmation.

According to a representative from United, the changes are being communicated to the airline’s internal teams, while eligible members can expect an email relaying this information to them in the coming days.
