Dubai International surpassed London’s Heathrow airport as the world’s busiest airport for international traffic in 2014.

It is currently the third busiest airport for all passenger traffic, behind Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International and Beijing Capital International.

The airport's new Concourse D is expected to open early this year, and will feature a British Airways first-class Concorde Bar (see news September 1, 2015).
