Emirates to add second daily A380 service to Los Angeles

6 Jan 2016 by BusinessTraveller
Emirates will launch a second daily A380 frequency to Los Angeles from July 1. The new EK217 service will depart Dubai at 1500, arriving into Los Angeles at 2000, with the return leg EK218 leaving the US city at 2230 and landing back into Dubai at 0130 two days later. The new frequency will complement the carrier’s existing A380 service to LA, which departs Dubai at 0855 (arriving at 1355) and returns at 1645 (landing at 1935). Emirates says the new service will suit business travellers looking to spend the whole day in Los Angeles prior to departure, and will also offer improved connectivity in Dubai for passengers travelling between LA and several cities including Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur. The A380 serving the Dubai-Los Angeles route is configured in three classes, with 14 first class suites, 76 in business class and 401 in economy – to view the seatplan for this aircraft click here. Emirates recently announced plans to add its new two-class A380 aircraft to one of its three daily flights serving the Dubai-Birmingham route from March 27 (see news December 17, 2015). emirates.com Mark Caswell
