Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore reopens following makeover

5 Jan 2016 by Clement Huang

Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore has officially reopened following an extensive S$45 million (US$31.6 million) makeover, which saw it rebranded from Traders Hotel Singapore.

The renovated 18-storey property delivers Hotel Jen-branded design and product themes that will be incorporated into the nine other Hotel Jen properties in Asia-Pacific managed by Shangri-La.

Lobby

Situated near the popular Orchard Road shopping district, Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore is directly connected to Tanglin Mall, which offers a variety of retail outlets, cafés, restaurants and supermarkets. A complimentary shuttle service is available to all guests, with links to Orchard Road as well as weekday morning trips to the CBD.

Executive suite

All 565 guestrooms now boast four locally curated wallpaper designs featuring a Singaporean theme (bicycle, orchid, goldfish and shop house). Each accommodation comes with free wifi, USB charger outlets, high-pressure walk-in showers and king-size beds with 300-threadcount linen.

Club lounge

A newly redesigned club lounge is located on the 17th floor, which delivers open views of the nearby residential neighbourhood and offers daily breakfast, local and international cocktails, as well as canapés in the evening.

The new all-day dining restaurant J65 serves up local and Southeast Asian cuisine in a local farmer’s market look and feel. The lobby also houses Jen’s Kitchen On-the-Go – a café and snack bar selling locally roasted coffee to busy travellers on the move.

“As well as offering travellers greater flexibility to blend the boundaries between business and leisure, [we are] pioneering [our] support of small and local businesses by showcasing upcoming brands from the local F&B scene,” said Clifford Weiner, general manager of Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore.
