Qatar Airways will offer its passengers up to 15 minutes of free wifi connectivity, courtesy of a new partnership with telecommunication company Ooredoo.
The free service will be available from December 17 on all connected aircraft, which currently includes all A380, A350, B787, and A319 aircraft and select A320s and A330s.
For longer usage, one hour of connectivity is priced at US$5, while three hours is US$10. Passengers can also choose to remain connected for their entire flight for a flat fee of US$20.

Meanwhile, first class passengers flying on Qatar Airways’ A380 will continue to receive complimentary wifi for the duration of their flight.
“We believe on-board shouldn’t mean off-line,” said Qatar Airways’ group chief executive, Akbar Al Baker. “This partnership [with Ooredoo] really reflects the values at the core of our new, recently unveiled, global brand positioning – ‘Going Places Together’ – and further underpins our commitment to offering the best to our customers.”
