Cathay Pacific has confirmed a four-times weekly service between Hong Kong and London Gatwick.
Subject to government approval, the service will start on September 2.
It will complement the airline’s current five-times daily service to London Heathrow (see news, November 23). In total, 39 weekly flights will operate between Hong Kong and London.
In addition, Cathay also offers a four-times weekly service to Manchester.
Cathay will operate the new LGW service from the South Terminal with its new A350-900 aircraft featuring business class, premium economy and economy.
Neil Glenn, Cathay’s general manager Europe, said: “These additional flights between London and Hong Kong will provide our passengers with greater choice and flexibility and, at the same time, continue to boost Hong Kong’s standing as an international aviation hub.”
