ANA to serve Wuhan

8 Dec 2015 by Clement Huang

All Nippon Airways (ANA) will open a new route connecting its base at Tokyo Narita to Wuhan, China from April 28, 2016.

The Star Alliance member currently boasts flights to more Chinese destinations than any other Japanese carrier. It operates flights to 10 cities: Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Dalian, Shenyang, Qingdao, Hangzhou, Xiamen, Chengdu and Hong Kong.

As the largest city in central China, Wuhan is an attractive market for Japanese corporations especially in the automotive sector. ANA therefore anticipates strong demand for both Japanese business travel to Wuhan, and Chinese leisure travel to Japan.

To cater to this expected demand, ANA will operate a daily service to the Chinese city. While flight times have yet to be finalised, the carrier plans to operate an evening flight out of Tokyo, arriving in Wuhan at night. The return service will see a morning departure from Wuhan, and an afternoon arrival back in Tokyo.
