Lufthansa passengers face more disruption after the UFO cabin crew union called for its members to strike on Thursday and Friday.
The industrial action, should it go ahead, will take place just two weeks after a seven-day walk-out that forced the cancellation of around 4,700 flights came to a close.
The ongoing dispute centres on employee retirement and pension benefits, with Lufthansa wanting to reduce costs and staff determined to protect the current set-up.
Nicoley Baublies, head of UFO, confirmed the latest strike to Reuters today.
Last month, Lufthansa CEO Carsten Spohr said the airline had identified €1billion of cost savings despite raising its full-year profit forecast.
Strikes this year up to October have cost Lufthansa around €130 million. Pilots, in particular, have staged a series of walk-outs (see news, September 8).
Earlier today, it emerged that the carrier will suspend its Munich-Dubai service in April (see news, November 23).
