Emirates to fly A380 thrice-daily to Jeddah

23 Nov 2015 by GrahamSmith

Emirates will operate a three-times daily A380 service to Jeddah from next month.

The airline currently flies 17-times weekly to the Saudi city. From December 14, it will add services on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

This will bring the total number of weekly flights between Dubai and Jeddah to 21 - a three-times daily superjumbo service.

The new services will operate as outbound flight EK801, which will depart Dubai at 0140 and arrive in Jeddah at 0340, and return leg EK802, which will leave Jeddah at 0540 and land in Dubai at 0930.

Sheikh Majid Al Mualla, Emirates' divisional senior vice president, commercial operations west, said: "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a major market for Emirates and its importance is reflected by the fact that we will now operate three flights per day to Jeddah with our popular A380 aircraft."

On December 10, Etihad Airways will add a third daily flight on to its Jeddah route (see news, November 13).
