Intercontinental Hotels Group will open a Hotel Indigo property in London’s Aldgate in 2017.
The 207-room Hotel Indigo London – Aldgate will be a new-build and will operate under a franchise agreement with Meadow Partners and Roquebrook.
It will be located in a residential and commercial development being constructed along Leman Street and Aldgate East.
Anna Corkill, IHG’s development director, UK & Ireland, said: “We’re proud to be bringing the first Hotel Indigo hotel to East London… With so many unique neighbourhoods, it is the perfect location for the brand and this latest signing is very much in line with our growth plans for the city.”
Hotel Indigo currently has 19 properties open in Europe with a further 11 in the pipeline. The brand has nine hotels open in the UK, with nine to come, including the Aldgate property.
In the summer, IHG opened a Hotel Indigo property in York (see news, July 20).
