Cathay Pacific (CX) has debuted its newly renovated lounge at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport.
Located at level 4 departures in Terminal 1, the facility features the airline’s new lounge design ethos that has already been seen in Tokyo Haneda (see here), Manila (see here) and Bangkok (see here).

The Taipei lounge measure 1,253sqm and is capable of seating up to 245 people – approximately 100 more than the previous facility.
Designed by London-based Studioilse, there is a focus on wellbeing. The interiors feature warm, natural materials such as wood and stone, while lighting has been used to try and convey the feeling of a relaxing, domestic environment.
Glazed screens and green ceramic tiles in The Noodle Bar help make this space distinct from other areas in the lounge
Cherry wood walls and a limestone floor are complemented by details such as glazed screens, green ceramic tiles in The Noodle Bar, bronze highlights in the main entrance and brass in the Bar. These individual design details also help to create a clear distinction between individual sections within the lounge.
The new Solo Chair – offering more privacy than ever before
CX’s revamped Taipei lounge is the first to feature the new Solo Chair, which the airline characterises as a seat “that has been designed with high partitions on either side to give passengers extra privacy.” Each comes with a side table, reading lamp and coat hook.
For travellers looking to get some work done, there is a dedicated work area known as The Bureau. This space comes equipped with dual operating system iMacs and printers. Complimentary wifi is also available throughout the lounge.
Taiwanese beef noodles, available at The Noodle Bar
With the aim to place greater emphasis on its F&B services, CX has introduced its signature Noodle Bar concept to the Taipei lounge. The bar serves a selection of soup noodles including wonton noodles, dan dan noodles and Taiwanese beef noodles. Other Taiwanese favourites such as minced pork rice and bubble milk tea will be offered at selected times as well, while the Food Hall will serve lighter options. Freshly blended cocktails and a variety of non-alcoholic beverages are available at the Bar.
Working in the Taipei lounge
The new lounge at Taoyuan International Airport is open daily from 0430 to 2050. First and business class passengers travelling with CX or fellow Oneworld carriers are afforded entry, as are Silver tier or higher members of Marco Polo Club, and Oneworld Sapphire or higher tier cardholders.
