Luxury New York hotel The Mark has unveiled what it claims is the largest penthouse suite in the US.
The five-star property, which is located on the corner of 77 Street and Madison Avenue – opened the 1,115 sqm penthouse at the end of October.
With interiors conceived by French designer Jacques Grange, the two-floor apartment features five bedrooms, six bathrooms (one of which has a steam room), and a main living room that can be turned into an event space with an eight-metre high atrium.

The suite also has a library lounge, a dining room for up to 24 people, four fireplaces, two wet bars and a 223 sqm al fresco terrace with views of the city and Central Park.
A full-size chef's kitchen sports an island, Sub-Zero fridges, wine coolers and appliances by Gaggenau and Miele, while the master bedroom has his and hers dressing areas and bathrooms, walk-in wardrobes and a deep-soaking infinity tub.
Grange said: "This majestic penthouse is the ultimate residence away from home for those who truly appreciate rarefied luxury, who seek a grand space that is equally equipped to lavishly entertain as it is to provide a homely private oasis with the extraordinary amenities and services the Mark hotel offers."
Olivier Lordonnois, the hotel's general manager, told Business Traveller: "Many hotels has tried too hard with their top suites. We wanted something contemporary but not too edgy."

With a price tag of $75,000 a night, he added that stays would be "highly personalised". Listing things like 24-hour Michelin star in-room dining from on-site restaurant Jean-Georges Vongerichten, butler service or chauffeurs would be unnecessary as all these things could be taken for granted.
Guests may find a fridge full of Billecart-Salmon Special Cuvée champagne, but equally could have it stocked with whatever food or drink they wanted.
The Mark hotel occupies a building dating back to 1927 but was given a full revamp in 2009. You can read our review here.
