St. Regis Mumbai begins operations

6 Nov 2015 by Clement Huang

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has introduced its St. Regis brand to India with the opening of the St. Regis Mumbai.

This brings the total number of properties from the luxury brand to 34 hotels worldwide.

“The introduction of St. Regis to India marks a significant milestone for the brand’s expansion in South Asia, and Mumbai displays a robust demand for high-end hospitality from affluent travellers from all around the globe,” says Jim Petrus, global brand leader, St. Regis Hotels & Resorts.

“We are uniquely positioned to cater to the needs of a new generation of luxury travellers, offering a personalised experience informed by the brand's legacy.”

Located in Lower Parel, the St. Regis Mumbai offers convenient access to the Parel and Worli commercial districts – home to the corporate offices of companies such as Mattel, Thomson Reuters and HSBC. Nearby local attractions include High Street Pheonix, Haji Ali’s Tomb and Mahalaxmi Race Course, while Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport is 20km away.

Suite at St. Regis Mumbai

St. Regis Mumbai offers 386 guestrooms, with standard amenities in each consisting of a 40-inch LED television, separate bathtub and shower, and complimentary high-speed wifi. 24-hour butler service is also available for guests staying at any of the hotel’s suites.

Yuuka

There are seven F&B outlets onsite. Guest can choose from all-day dining at Seven Kitchens, Oriental cuisine at By the Mekong, modern Japanese at Yuuka, Indian at The Sahib Room & Kipling Bar, Asian at Li Bai, and premium spirits at EXO bar. There is also Asilo on level 38, which is Mumbai’s highest rooftop bar.

Outdoor infinity pool

Recreational facilities include an outdoor infinity pool, The Athletic Club fitness centre, and Iridium Spa – where guests can choose from an extensive massage treatment menu.

St. Regis Mumbai also offers a total of 18 meeting spaces, with the largest being the 1052sqm Banquet Hall that can be divided into three smaller event spaces. The hotel also offers high-speed internet access in all meeting facilities, audiovisual equipment and a wedding coordinator services on request.

The Astor Ballroom

Despite being positioned as a luxury hotel, Starwood has designated St. Regis Mumbai as a 'category four' property, which is good news for SPG members: There are a total of seven Starwood Redemption Categories, with one being the lowest category. Properties in the top 'seven' category require 30,000 to 35,000 Starpoints for the redemption of one free night. However, as a category four, SPG members can redeem a night for just 10,000 Starpoints.
