The Parks Hotels has opened a new property in Chennai, Tamil Nadu in India.
Zone by the Park Chennai is located in the Chennai ORR (outer ring road) area, within 15 minutes from the international airport and 40 minutes from the railway station and bus station.
The boutique hotel has 36 rooms and four suites and is the third Zone by The Park property. The brand was launched last year (see news, October 2014).
The hotel's design was overseen by London-based designers Project Orange, working with Priya Paul, chairperson of The Parks Hotels, and "seeks to establish a connection between the traveller and the local culture by creating a contemporary collage of the country and its traditions".
As with other properties by The Parks Hotels, the bar and restaurant as well as a nightclub are a big part of the draw.
All-day dining restaurant The Bazaar was inspired by the traditional market bazaar and is a "place where people can meet and engage in a friendly and informal atmosphere", Playa by Zone is a rooftop restaurant and bar, and Urban Spice Box is an open-air mixed grill and Z-bar the nightclub.
The hotel also has a Vitalia Spa & Fitness Centre and a rooftop pool.
Prices start from £40 per night, depending on season.
