27 Oct 2015 by GrahamSmith

CSA Czech Airlines will launch a Prague-Birmingham route next year.

The Skyteam alliance member will operate a five-times weekly A319 service between the two cities from April 22.

The A319 will be configured in two classes with ten seats in business and 120 in economy.

On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, the CSA Czech flight will arrive in Birmingham at 1700 and leave for Prague at 1740.

On Thursdays, the CSA Czech flight will land in Birmingham at 1850 and depart for Prague at 1930. And on Sundays, the CSA Czech flight will arrive in Birmingham at 2000 and leave for Prague at 2040.

William Pearson, Birmingham airport's aviation development director, said: "Prague is a brand new route from Birmingham so we are delighted that Czech Airlines has confirmed they will launch services from Birmingham and also introduce this key destination for both business and leisure travel, and to connect onwards beyond Prague to Czech Airlines' network."

CSA Czech Airlines resumed direct services to the UK for the first time in five years in July with a Prague-Liverpool service.

Yesterday, Qatar Airways announced it will launch a Dreamliner service between Doha and Birmingham next year (see news, October 26).
