Patrick Fitzgibbon, Hilton Worldwide senior vice president, said: "Cambridge is an established tourist destination owing to its rich academic history, but in recent years it has also become a centre of economic growth, thanks in part to more than 1,500 technology, research and development companies based in the area."
Hilton Cambridge, which is owned by CDL Hospitality Trusts, will join the nearby Doubletree by Hilton Cambridge.
Hilton London Euston is currently carrying out an £8 million refurbishment that includes all of the hotel's 150 guestrooms (see news, August 16).
