Qantas loyalty members to earn points from taxi rides

7 Oct 2015 by Clement Huang

Qantas Frequent Flyer members can now earn Qantas points when booking or catching a taxi through Australian booking app goCatch.

The earn rate is one Qantas point per Australian dollar spent on taxi fares over A$10 (US$7). As an added bonus, customers that sign up to goCatch will get the chance to win a share of 500,000 Qantas Points as part of an ongoing competition.

To qualify, members should add their Qantas Frequent Flyer membership details when registering for their goCatch account, and pay for taxi travel over A$10 between October 9 and November 9.

Qantas Loyalty chief executive officer Lesley Grant said Frequent Flyer rewards were well within reach for those who maximise their points earn across their everyday spend.

“Today we offer well over 15,000 opportunities to earn points through day-to-day activities, and adding goCatch means our members have another chance to effortlessly boost their points balance and reach rewards sooner,” said Grant.

“Members can effectively double-dip on points when catching a taxi if they use goCatch to book and pay for taxi fares over A$10 on a Qantas points-earning credit card.”
