Mandarin Oriental has announced the opening of its new property in Marrakech.

Set among 20 hectares of landscaped gardens, Mandarin Oriental Marrakech is located 10 minutes from the city and the historic Medina area.

The hotel offers 54 private villas, with interiors featuring heavy Berber and Moorish influences. They come with walled gardens, swimming pools and hot tubs, as well as sunbathing areas and shaded alfresco dining.

There are nine suites available – seven of which come with their own rooftop plunge pool and offer views of the gardens and surrounding countryside.

There are three dining outlets available. Guests can choose from Moroccan cuisine at The Mes’Lalla, international breakfast and light bites at Le Salon Berbere, and Mediterranean at the Pool Garden.

Mandarin Oriental Marrakech also offers a 1,800 sqm spa with four individual treatment rooms and two suites for couples. There are  outdoor treatment areas under the olive trees, as well as two hammams (turkish baths) with private scrub rooms.

A beauty salon offering hairdressing services is available, and there is an indoor swimming pool, fitness centre and yoga room.

Finally, the resort also offers meeting facilities including a ballroom that can accommodate up to 80 guests for cocktail functions, and two smaller boardrooms. The gardens are also available for private functions, and these have a capacity for up to 1,000 guests.
