Oman Air is set to take delivery of its first B787 Dreamliner aircraft next month.
According to local media reports, the carrier will operate a special showcase flight between Muscat and Salalah in October, carrying “VIPs, high-ranking government officials, officials from public and private sector organisations and media representatives”.
The aircraft will then enter scheduled service on October 25, operating on routes from Muscat to Europe and Saudi Arabia.
Oman Air has yet to officially confirm which routes will be operated by its Dreamliner aircraft, but earlier this month airlineroute.net reported that the carrier planning to roster the aircraft onto its route from Muscat to Frankfurt from October 25.
Oman Air has a total of six Dreamliners on order, with a second B787 due to be delivered in November, and the rest between 2016 and 2018.
Business Traveller will have more information on Oman Air’s B787 seating products, configuration and routes as soon as it is available.
