Fairmont Hotels & Resorts will open a property in the Nigerian capital of Abuja in 2019.
The 270-room Fairmont Abuja will be located in the city's central business district, 30 kilometres from Nnamdi Azikiwe airport and close to the International Conference Centre, which is set to open in 2018.
In addition to the 270 rooms and suites, there will be approximately 50 residences, each with their own private entrance, lobby and staff.
Facilities will include 2,400 sqm of meeting and event space, a spa, fitness centre, tennis courts and outdoor swimming pools.
Food and drink options will include an "expansive selection" of restaurants and lounges, including all-day dining options, two specialty restaurants, a café and pool bar.
Jennifer Fox, president of FRHI International and Fairmont Brand, said: "As the continent's largest economy and biggest oil producer, Nigeria is experiencing robust and stable growth making it a world-class destination and enticing location for both business and leisure travel."
Fairmont Abuja will join another hotel currently under development in Nigeria, Fairmont Lagos, which will have 220 rooms.
