Taking the time to register your company for a corporate scheme allows you to collect both individually and for the company.

Many airlines have programmes dedicated to small and medium-sized enterprises (SME), allowing collected miles or points to provide a variety of benefits for the firm and for its travellers.

Note also the Airline Alliances can be a quick way of determining which programme is best for you.

ETIHAD AIRWAYS

Etihad Business Connect

QANTAS

Qantas Business Rewards

Australia’s flag carrier launched its new SME-focused Qantas Business Rewards in February 2017 as “an evolution of the existing Acquire initiative”. Under the programme, businesses earn Qantas Points when employees fly, with both Qantas flights and Emirates codeshare flights bearing the QF code being valid. Eligible purchases on the ground, such as office supplies, recruitment and telecommunications, will also contribute towards a business’s point accrual. qantas.com.au

SINGAPORE AIRLINES

Corporate Travel Programme

Singapore Airlines introduced its corporate travel programme a few years ago, for companies of all sizes. Specifics depend on the country your company is in, but include discounted fares for all cabin classes, with no fees for booking, cancellation or changes, dedicated help desk for our corporate accounts, reporting tools via the website, or via dedicated account management, helping you to analyze and manage your organisation’s travel effectively and of course all travellers earn KrisFlyer miles, which can be redeemed for benefits both in the air and on the ground.

Most recently, however, it unveiled its new Highflyer scheme, aimed specifically at SMEs, enabling them to accrue five points for every S$1 (US$0.7) spent on Singapore Airlines and Silkair flights. Businesses can redeem these points to partially or fully offset future ticket purchases on either carrier. singaporeair.com

UNITED AIRLINES

PerksPlus

The PerksPlus program is free to join and gives companies (of small to medium size) points every time one of their registered travellers flies with United, United Express and other partners. Individuals will still receive benefits from United’s loyalty program – MileagePlus. Specific details can be found at united.com.

PassPlus

The PassPlus program is a yearly pre-paid programme that offers greater savings and more amenities, like priority check-in and economy plus seating. Points and discounts count towards flights operated by United, United Express, Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Swiss and ANA. This is specifically an SME programme. united.com

VIRGIN ATLANTIC

Flying Co

Virgin Atlantic’s corporate loyalty programme is free to join, is available to companies of all sizes, and miles are earned BY both the business and the individual. In the past, many SME programmes would only allow points and rewards when booked directly through their site. However, Virgin Atlantic will still reward points when booked through a travel agent. A minimum of four people must be enrolled per company. virgin-atlantic.com
