Vietnam Airlines will increase the capacity of its flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Shanghai Pudong from October 25.
The Skyteam member currently operates a single daily service between the two destinations, but will replace the incumbent A321 with the larger widebody B777-200ER.
In terms of the capacity increase, the A321 currently offers a two-class configuration with 16 seats in business and 168 in economy. The B777-200ER will offer nine more seats in business and 120 more in economy.
The deployment of the Boeing aircraft will also see the introduction of a premium economy product on the route, as the B777-200ER offers 54 seats in that cabin class.
Service times will be unchanged, with flight VN522 departing Ho Chi Minh City at 1415 and arriving in Shanghai Pudong at 1415. The return service sees flight VN523 take off from Shanghai Pudong at 1525 and touch back down in Ho Chi Minh City at 1850.
