Finnair’s first A350 XWB, fresh of the Airbus assembly line, has completed its first test flight in Toulouse.
According to the aircraft manufacturer, the A350 will now enter the final production phase, which includes further ground checks and flight tests, before being delivered to Finnair in the coming weeks.
Upon taking delivery of the aircraft, the Oneworld member will begin crew familiarisation by first flying the A350 on short haul flights, including those between Helsinki and London Heathrow, Paris Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam Schiphol.
Long-haul services will commence on October 25, with the A350 scheduled to fly daily to Shanghai, making the Chinese city the first in Asia to experience Finnair’s newest aircraft. This will be followed by Beijing on November 21.
Finnair has outfitted the A350 with a three-class configuration, including 46 in business, 43 in Economy Comfort and 208 in economy. For more information regarding the seat specifications of the new cabin products, see here.
