The Mandarin Oriental, Beirut will be located in the city's Central District, a 15-minute drive from Rafic Hariri International airport.

The development will consist of two adjacent buildings, with the hotel's 280 rooms and suites and 25 serviced apartments in one tower, and the second tower containing 103 residences.

Facilities will include shared amenities with two restaurants and bars, one spanning the top of both towers offering views of the city below; a lobby lounge and a club lounge; a fitness centre, and indoor and outdoor swimming pools.

Meeting and event space will comprise a 300-seat grand ballroom, a 270-seat ballroom and various conference rooms.

The property is being developed by Saudi multi-national firm Olayan Group and will be managed by Mandarin Oriental.

Mandarin Oriental will open a hotel in Istanbul in 2016 (see news, May 2013).
