The roll-out of Singapore Airlines' new premium economy cabin has been delayed.
The delay affects only the carrier's A380 fleet and not flights operated by B777-300ERs, but it covers a wide range of destinations in Asia, the US and Europe, including London Heathrow.
SIA has posted an advisory listing the services affected on its website.
* Revised dates for the introduction of premium economy to be confirmed later
These include daily flights SQ308/321 between Singapore and Heathrow, which will be affected from December 17.
Passengers who have booked premium economy seats on other A380 services from September 9 and into the summer 2016 season, depending on the route, will need to monitor the situation in case of further changes.
If premium economy is unavailable, passengers who are unable to switch to another flight will probably find themselves downgraded to normal economy class and receive a refund for the difference in fare.
SIA said it was "working to complete the installation programme as quickly as possible. Customers with ticketed bookings who are affected by the delays will be contacted progressively by Singapore Airlines or travel agents to offer alternative travel arrangements."
Initial feedback regarding the new product, which was launched last month between Singapore and Sydney (see news, August 10), has been favourable.
Full details of the new seating with improved comfort, catering and so on (but with prices to match) was announced earlier this year (see news, May 21).
