The Great Northern Hotel in London is to become Starwood's first Tribute Portfolio property in Europe, and its second worldwide.
The 91-room St Pancras property opened two-and-a-half years ago following a £40 million refit (see news, March 2013).
London's first railway hotel, it is located next to King's Cross station and across from St Pancras International. It first opened in 1854, but had been closed for more than a decade before reopening.
Now, it is set to join Starwood's Tribute Portfolio, reports the Financial Times.
Tribute Portfolio is the hotel group's tenth brand and was introduced in April (see news, April 16).
It is part of renewed activity from Starwood, which last month introduced a new premium tier to its Sheraton brand - Sheraton Grand (see news, August 20).
