Qantas has opened a new domestic business class lounge at Perth Airport.
Qantas lounge entrance
The new Qantas Domestic Business Lounge is almost 50 per cent larger than the one it replaces, and offers seating for more than 350 people. It is open to Qantas business customers as well as Platinum and Platinum One frequent flyers.
Seating area
The expansion reflects the fact that Perth Airport has experienced strong passenger growth in recent years, which has been largely attributed to the state’s prolonged mining boom.
Buffet area
The domestic lounge, designed by Woods Bagot, features a décor and colour scheme influenced by Western Australian landscape; terracotta and metallic walls represent the region’s mineral-rich soil.
Lounge interior
Distinct zones offer individual areas to dine, work and relax.
There are two brand new dining concepts at the lounge – an Italian pizza bar with a dedicated pizza chef, and a wine bar serving barista coffee and freshly made croissants.
Pizza bar
There is also a “make your own” juice station in the morning, cocktail hour from 4-5pm on weekdays, and a standard hot and cold buffet selection.
Dedicated pizza chef
Those looking for something different can opt for the “plate of the day”, which will include baked eggs with chorizo and feta in the morning and gourmet cheese plates in the evening. Qantas consulting chef Neil Perry has produced new menus for the lounge.
