Marriott International will open Iceland's first Edition hotel in 2018.
The Reykjavik Edition will be located next to the Harpa conference and concert hall on the harbour waterfront in the city centre.
It will contain 250 guestrooms. Other facilities have not been announced yet.
The hotel will open as a joint venture between Marriott, Ian Schrager and owner/developer Carpenter & Company. Marriott will manage the property under a long-term agreement.
Edition Hotels currently has properties in London, New York, Miami and Instanbul. To read a review of The London Edition, click here.
Earlier this year, the lifestyle brand opened the first of two Edition properties in New York (see news, April 13).
Future openings are planned as follows: Abu Dhabi in 2016; Sanya in 2016; Bangkok in 2016; New York Times Square in 2018; West Hollywood in 2018; Reykjavik in 2018; Wuhan in 2019; and Bali in 2019.
