Starwood Hotels & Resorts has confirmed it will open a W Hotels property in Amsterdam on October 9.
W Amsterdam is located in a former telephone exchange and a former bank building on Dam Square, behind the Royal Palace in the centre of the city.
Exterior
The property will contain 238 rooms, 172 of which will be located in the exchange building and will be available to guests when the hotel opens on September 21. The remaining 66 guestrooms, and the "Fit and Away Spa", will open in the adjoining bank building in December.
Among the 238 rooms are 21 suites and two Extreme Wow Suites, the W equivalent of a presidential suite.

Extreme Wow Suite
Facilities include W Lounge on the rooftop, two restaurants (The Duchess and Mr Porter), a bar, 414 sqm of meeting and event space, including three large rooms and two smaller meeting rooms, a fitness centre and a 24-hour business centre.
W Amsterdam is the seventh W Hotel in Europe, joining properties in Istanbul, Barcelona, St Petersburg, London, Paris and Verbier.
