SPG and Korean Air partner loyalty schemes

18 Aug 2015 by GrahamSmith

Starwood Preferred Guest has partnered with Korean Air, allowing SPG members to convert their Starpoints into the airline's Skypass miles.

SPG and Skypass members can transfer points to miles at a 1:1 ratio and for every 20,000 Starpoints transferred, SPG members will earn an additional 5,000 bonus points.

This effectively means that transferring 20,000 Starpoints into Skypass miles could earn a total of 25,000 miles, a 1:1.25 ratio.

To commemorate the partnership between the two parties, new members of SPG that stay with any participating Starwood hotel or resort in the Asia-Pacific region by November 12 will earn 1,000 bonus Starpoints per stay, up to a maximum of 2,000 points during the promotion period.

Meanwhile, Skypass members that do not have an SPG account can continue to receive a 15 per cent discount at participating SPG restaurants and bars in Korea. The offer is also valid until November 12.
