13 Aug 2015 by GrahamSmith
British Airways will move its London-Porto service from Heathrow to Gatwick next year. The route will initially operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays when it starts at LGW on February 11. Currently, the Heathrow services flies twice-weekly. It will increase to a six-times weekly service in the summer, with additional flights on Mondays and Wednesdays, the airline said. Flight code BA2782 covers the LGW-Porto leg and BA2783 the return. Flight times differ depending on the day of travel. BA is rostering an A319 on to the route. Easyjet opened a base at Porto earlier this year, and operates routes from Manchester, Bristol and London Luton airports to the Portuguese city (see news, November 2014). ba.com Graham Smith
