Long-haul business class passengers on Lufthansa can now look forward to a restaurant-style meal service.
Over 4,500 flight attendants have received special training to recreate a fine dining experience.
Gone are the trays and flight trolleys, instead cabin crew will take orders from passengers, set the tray table with ceramic crockery and serve food directly from the galley.
This puts Lufthansa’s inflight dining experience in line with a number of other carriers, including Qantas and Singapore Airlines.
The new dining concept is now available on all Lufthansa A380 flights to Houston, Johannesburg, Los Angeles, Miami, Delhi, New York (JFK), Beijing, San Francisco, Shanghai, Seoul and Singapore.
It will then be progressively introduced onto flights with the B747-400 and B747-8 from Frankfurt on October 1, followed by the A340 fleet from Frankfurt and Munich to Asia and the Middle East from October 25.
