Luxury Collection arrives in Nanjing

Starwood Hotels & Resorts has opened its seventh Luxury Collection property in China.

The Grand Mansion, a Luxury Collection Hotel is located in Nanjing on Changjiang Road and contains 158 rooms, including 15 suites and a Presidential Suite.

Facilities include The Travellers' Library, which Starwood claims is "one of China's largest hotel libraries with a vast collection of 3,000 books as well as local antiques and global treasures".

Food and drink options can be found in Xi Lounge, the traditional Xuan Ling Ge Chinese restaurant, and all-day dining in The Atrium.

The hotel also features a 550 sqm grand ballroom, seven flexible meeting rooms, a fitness centre, indoor swimming pool and spa.

Hoyt H Harper II, Luxury Collection's global brand leader, said: "The rapid growth of the Luxury Collection brand in China reflects a robust demand for high-end hospitality from an increasingly affluent market, where domestic travel continues to thrive."

The other six Luxury Collection hotels in China are The Azure Qiantang in Hangzhou; The Castle Hotel in Dalian; Twelve at Hengshan and The Hongta Hotel in Shanghai; The Royal Begonia in Sanya and Astor Hotel in Tianjin.

Starwood is this month adding four European hotels to the Luxury Collection, in Prague, Portopiccolo, Bodrum and Bratislava (see news, July 15).
