ANA plans nonstop service to Sydney

17 Jul 2015 by Clement Huang

All Nippon Airways (ANA) will expand its Oceanic presence with the launch of nonstop flights between its base in Tokyo Haneda and Sydney.

ANA B787-9

Subject to regulatory approval, the daily service will commence from December 11, and become the Japanese carrier’s fourth new international destination this year, following direct services to Houston, Kuala Lumpur and Brussels.

Flight NH879 departs Tokyo at 2210 and arrives in Sydney at 0935 the following day. The return service on flight NH880 will then take off again from Sydney at 2130 and touch back down in Tokyo at 0505 the next day.

Business class on the Dreamliner

The new service has been strategically timed to allow for convenient connections to the Australian city through Tokyo Haneda Airport. A late night departure allows passengers to arrive in Sydney in the morning, thereby ensuring that they benefit from a full day in Australia.

The return flight also departs Sydney at night, arriving in Tokyo early in the morning, thereby allowing passengers to transit to a number of Japanese and international destinations by midday.

Premium economy

The route will be operated by ANA’s new B787-9, which offers a three class configuration with 48 flat-bed seats in business, 21 seats in premium economy and 146 in economy.

The Star Alliance member plans to begin accepting reservations in August 2015.
