Hainan Airlines (HU) will be flying from Beijing to Prague from September 25.
The thrice-weekly service, operated by a B767-300ER, follows a recent visit by Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong to Prague, where a strategic cooperation agreement was signed.
Flight HU7937 departs Beijing on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 0230 and arrives in Prague at 0620. Flight HU7938 departs Prague at 1420 and arrives in Beijing the following day at 0530.
The airline also announced a revamp of its frequent flyer programme, Fortune Wings Club, starting January 1, 2016.
Two new tiers, platinum and select, will be added to complement its existing gold, silver and regular levels. Platinum members will be able to gift one silver membership to friends and family, while members purchasing full-flexible economy class tickets will receive a complimentary upgrade to first class, subject to availability, when flying domestically within China.
The programme will further see the introduction of rollover status miles, in which any miles exceeding the qualification threshold will count towards the following qualification period. Delta was the first airline to introduce this practice in 2009 (see here), and HU will be the first in China.
“In late 2015 and 2016, Hainan Airlines Fortune Wings Club will continue to bring out many reforms with member needs at the core, continually creating a new Fortune Wings Club rewards program,” said Yuan Huifang, product director at HU.
Fortune Wings Club is the FFP for a number of domestic Chinese airlines affiliated with HU, as well as Hong Kong Airlines.
