7 Jun 2015 by GrahamSmith

Hilton Worldwide will open a Hilton Hotels and Resorts property near Dubai's Al Maktoum International airport in early 2019.

The 535-room Hilton Dubai World Central will be located close to the airport's main passenger entrance and to the Dubai Expo 2020 venue.

Over seven floors, the hotel will feature a multifunctional ballroom, eight meeting rooms and six board rooms.

There will be a "village" of food and drink options and a separate all-day dining restaurant, while leisure facilities will include a spa and wellness centre, fitness centre and two swimming pools.

Rudi Jagersbacher, Hilton Worldwide's Middle East and Africa president, said: "We are delighted to be once again at the forefront of the industry, with the addition of our flagship Hilton brand in DWC.

"Across the Middle East and Africa, Hilton Worldwide expects to open an average of one hotel per month over the course of the next few years and plans to more than double our portfolio here in Dubai."

The property will be managed by the hospitality division of the Mohammad Omar Bin Haider Holding Group.

In April, Hilton announced plans to open the first Hampton by Hilton hotel in the Middle East in 2017 (see news, April 27). The 420-room Hampton by Hilton Dubai Al Qusais is the brand's largest property under development in the world.
