Virgin and Delta to open The O2 lounge

2 Jun 2015 by GrahamSmith

Transatlantic partners Virgin Atlantic and Delta Air Lines will open a lounge bar at London's The O2 venue this summer.

The NY-LON Lounge, which will be aviation-themed, will be able to accommodate up to 400 guests.

It will contain a bar and seating area, and a "secret space" for meetings, dining or other small events.

The facility will be open seven days a week and will be managed by Levy Restaurants UK. It is scheduled to open in late July.

Members of Virgin's Flying Club and Delta's Skymiles loyalty programmes "will benefit from a range of discounts and special offers".

Reuben Arnold, Virgin Atlantic's senior vice president of marketing and customer experience, said: "We've created NY-LON as a celebration of our transatlantic network which provides customers with a seamless, more enjoyable way to fly between the UK and US.

"Our lounge bar will offer customers a brand new experience at The O2 that showcases our airlines' world-class service."

Tim Mapes, Delta's senior vice president of marketing, added: "Opening NY-LON is the next exciting step in our partnership and we look forward to helping travellers enjoy the Delta-Virgin Atlantic brand of hospitality for which we're famous when they next visit The O2."

Virgin and Delta first unveiled their joint transatlantic venture in 2013 (see news, November 2013).
