1 Jun 2015 by GrahamSmith

Qatar Airways will launch A350 services to Philadephia, New York JFK and Boston next year.

The carrier will roster the aircraft from Hamad International to Philadephia from January 1, to New York from March 1, and to Boston from March 16. All three destinations will be served by the A350 daily.

Also on January 1, Qatar Airways will launch its first services to Los Angeles. No further details on this route were available.

CEO Akbar Al Baker said: "Philadelphia is the sixth largest metropolitan area in the US and is an important international business hub that is home to seven Fortune 1000 companies.

"With the launch of the new A350 service from January 1 next year, Qatar Airways will be further strengthening its position in Philadelphia and the US overall as an airline offering passengers a world-class travel experience."

The airline already operates two A350s to Germany; both fly to Frankfurt and launched in January and March (see news, January 20). Its third A350 service, to Singapore, started last month (see news, May 12).

Qatar Airways' A350s feature 36 seats in business class in a 1-2-1 configuration, and 247 in economy in a 3-3-3 layout.
