Loews Hotels & Resorts has announced a new luxury brand, Loews Regency.
The move follows the opening of Loews Regency San Francisco, formerly a Mandarin Oriental hotel, last month.
That property joins the landmark Loews Regency New York, which reopened last year after a $100 million refurbishment (see news, January 2014), under the new brand.
Jonathan Tisch, chairman of Loews Hotels & Resorts, said: "The Loews Regency San Francisco coupled with the iconic Loews Regency New York allows us to develop a new brand that really concentrates on customers looking for an intimate luxury experience."
Each Loews Regency hotel will have a "power breakfast", which was established in the New York property, and typically attracts top business executives and politicians.
Loews now operates three brands – the original Loews Hotels & Resorts, Loews Regency, and The OE Collection, which launched earlier this year and is a "management-based platform used to support existing or newly built independent hotels".
The 155-room Loews Regency San Francisco is located in the city's third-tallest office building and features more than 465 sqm of meeting space and a new 745 sqm spa and fitness centre.
