Accor has announced plans to open a Mercure property in Derby and an Ibis Styles hotel in Leeds.
Mercure Derby will open "at the end of the year" at the Derbyshire County Cricket Ground; the four-star property will contain 100 guestrooms.
The 74th Mercure hotel in the UK, it will be operated under a franchise agreement with owners London Town Hotels Group.
The 134-room Ibis Styles Leeds Merrion Centre will be a new-build and is scheduled to open in 2016 under a franchise agreement with Town Centre Securities.
There are currently 92 Ibis Styles economy hotels in the UK.

"Our ambitious expansion plans demonstrate our commitment to strengthening the portfolio across our budget and midscale brand segments."
Currently, Le Club Accorhotels members can earn 500 bonus points when staying at a participating Mercure property in the UK and Ireland (see news, March 31).
