British Airways to add new routes from Heathrow

British Airways is to launch two new routes from London Heathrow to Reykjavik and Salzburg for the winter 2015/16 schedule.

The airline will start flying three times per week from Heathrow to Reykjavik in Iceland from October 25, 2015, and twice a week from Heathrow to Salzburg from December 2015.

The Heathrow-Reykjavik flights will operate on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, while Heathrow-Salzburg services will run on Saturday and Sunday.

Lynne Embleton, BA’s director of strategy and business units, said: “Reykjavik is a new destination for us, and customers will now have the convenience of flying from Heathrow as well as Gatwick to Salzburg.”

Heathrow to Reykjavik flights will leave Heathrow at 1120 for arrival in Iceland at 1435. The return service departs Reykjavik at 1530 and arrives to Heathrow at 1845.

Heathrow to Salzburg services will leave Heathrow at 1200 to arrive in Austria at 1400. The return flight will depart Salzburg at 1455 to arrive back at Heathrow at 1655.

BA is also to increase frequencies on its routes from Gatwick to Funchal, Faro, Seville and Turin for the winter 2015/16 season starting from October 27, 2015 and running to March 25, 2016.

The airline will add two flights from Gatwick to Faro on Tuesday and Thursday, two flights to Seville on Tuesday and Wednesday, two flights to Funchal, Madeira, on Wednesday and Friday, and one extra frequency to Turin on Sunday, which will operate between December 13, 2015, and March 20, 2016.
