Singapore Airlines has launched a new mobile app for Apple and Android smartphones, as well as the recently launched Apple Watch.
With a redesigned user interface and new features, the app is easier to use with more functionality than the previous version launched in 2011.
“Singapore Airlines is continually transforming in order to stay at the forefront of airline innovation, and we are confident that our latest mobile offerings with a wide array of useful tools and convenient features will help us achieve just that,” said SIA’s divisional vice president sales & marketing, Foo Chai Woo.
Upon opening the app, users will be greeted by a clean and contemporary interface. Unlike the plain background of the old app, the new one features panoramic photo wallpapers that deliver a sleeker look.
New features include a contextual homepage that displays the most relevant information about upcoming trips. A new “My Trips” page helps users to easily access necessary information such as flight dates and booking references right on their fingertips.
Customers can also look forward to an integrated flight schedule and booking widget that enables faster and easier booking of fares, as well as the monitoring of flight status.
Members of SIA’s frequent flyer programme Krisflyer are also able to view their membership details and keep track of their miles and tier info. Further enhancements are also due to be rolled out.
Apple Watch users will have access to a range of unique features including Glance View, which incorporates trip reminders with other important information such as when counters are ready for check-in.
The new enhancements are part of the company’s efforts to improve customers’ experience across digital touchpoints. SIA is currently conducting a public beta test of a new version of its website. Visitors can visit here to access the webpage.
