Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) has signed a management agreement with Sunflower FZE to launch its boutique Hotel Indigo brand in the UAE.
The 285-room Hotel Indigo Dubai Business Bay will open in 2017 and be part of a large, mixed use development that is located close to the world renowned Burj Khalifa, as well as The Dubai Mall and emerging Design District.
“Hotel Indigo is one of the fastest growing boutique hotel brands in the world and we know our guests love the unique neighbourhood story each Hotel Indigo property is designed to reflect,” said Pascal Gauvin, chief operating officer, India, Middle East & Africa, IHG.
"When complete in 2017, we are confident Hotel Indigo Dubai Business Bay will be one of the preferred hotels amongst travellers to Dubai, whether they visit on business or leisure," he added.
As is standard across all Hotel Indigo brands, the Dubai property will be individually designed to reflect the local neighbourhood, from the architecture to the interior artwork.
Little is known about the guestrooms yet, but the hotel will feature an infinity edge pool with views of the world’s tallest building. There will also be a fitness centre, meeting space, and several dining outlets including an all-day dining space and a rooftop restaurant and bar.
IHG currently boasts a total of 18 properties in the UAE, and intends to open a further ten hotels over the next three to five years.
