28 Apr 2015 by GrahamSmith

ANA will launch its first international B787-9 service between Tokyo Haneda and Munich next week.

The stretched Dreamliner will be rostered on to flights NH217 and NH218 on alternate days "with the exception of certain periods", starting on Tuesday May 5.

Outbound service NH217 will depart Tokyo at 1230 and arrive in Munich at 1720, while return service NH218 will leave Munich at 2125 and land in Tokyo at 1550 the next day.

ANA's long-haul B787-9 has 215 seats, 46 more than on the B787-8.

It will include ANA Sky Live TV, a new feature that allows passengers to watch broadcast television in real-time. Passengers will also be able to access free digital content including e-books and e-magazines.

The international B787-9 will also be the first Dreamliner in ANA's fleet to offer an inflight wifi service. This paid facility will cost $6.95 for 30 minutes, $16.95 for three hours, and $21.90 for up to 24 hours.

ANA was the launch customer for the Dreamliner in 2011 (see news, October 2011) and the first airline to fly the B787-9 in regular service (see news, July 2014).

Earlier this month, ANA unveiled a B787-9 aircraft decked out in Star Wars livery (see news, April 17).
