Korean Air has expanded its codeshare agreement with China Airlines, thereby increasing the flights offered between South Korea and Taiwan.
A codeshare is an aviation business partnership whereby a flight operated by one carrier is jointly marketed by another. In this case, the agreement will allow Korean Air to sell tickets with its marketing KE flight code on selected flights operated by China Airlines.
With immediate effect, codeshare flights have been added between Seoul and Kaohsiung and also between Busan and Taipei.
Prior to the expansion, Korean Air was already codesharing with China Airlines on the Seoul–Taipei route 25 flights per week – 14 of which were operated by the former, and 11 by the latter.
The new agreement will boost this by a further 21 flights – seven flights on the Seoul–Kaohsiung route, and 14 on the Busan–Taipei route. All flights are operated by the B737-800.
