Singapore Airlines has opened a Silverkris lounge in London Heathrow’s Terminal 2.

The carrier moved into the new terminal in September last year, two months after its opening (see news, June 2014).

The Heathrow Silverkris Lounge is located in T2B close to gate B36 and is open to first class and business passengers flying with SIA or any Star Alliance airline, and to SIA Krisflyer and Star Alliance Gold members.

With separate areas for first and business passengers, seating 50 and 158 respectively, the lounge contains living rooms, dining rooms, a bar, productivity pods, showers and a “roving host service”.

First class features a self-service buffet and à la carte dining, the latter with five different menus per day, with at least two menus available at any one time, while business class features a self-service buffet.

The lounge is the third to feature SIA’s new “home away from home” design, following SIA facilities in Sydney (see news, December 2013) and Hong Kong (see news, November 2014).

Wilson Yong, SIA’s general manager UK & Ireland, said: “Our new Silverkris Lounge at Heathrow brings our ‘home away from home’ concept to the UK and Europe for the first time… We believe the familiar, homely environment will be hugely well-received by our customers as we provide them with comfort and the feeling of being taken care of at every step of their journey.”
