Emirates will be increasing capacity on its flights to Zurich later this year, when it replaces the B777-300ER currently serving one of its two daily flights with the larger A380.
First class
With effect from October 1, Emirates flights EK85/86 will be served by the superjumbo, and offer 14 suites in first, 76 seats in business, and 399 in economy. In comparison, the B777-300ER only offers eight in first, 42 in business and 304 in economy.
The Gulf carrier first introduced the A380 to Zurich back in January 2014. Since then, it has flown more than 345,000 passengers with its flagship aircraft to and from Switzerland's largest city.
Business class
"The additional A380 service from Zurich makes it even easier for travellers to enjoy a seamless Emirates A380 experience to key destinations like Mauritius, Bangkok, Shanghai, Sydney or Hong Kong, with just one stop at our hub in Dubai,” said Hubert Frach, Emirates’ divisional senior vice president, commercial operations west.
Economy class
Flight EK85 departs Dubai International Airport daily at 1545 and arrives in Zurich at 2020. The return service sees flight EK86 depart Zurich Airport at 2215 and arrive back in Dubai at 0625 the following day.
