Grand Hyatt Taipei to reopen after refurb

6 Apr 2015 by GrahamSmith

The Grand Hyatt Taipei will reopen later this month following a complete renovation.

The property, which opened as the first luxury hotel in the Taiwan capital 25 years ago, has seen its 853 guestrooms and suites stripped, redesigned and rebuilt.

From April 23, guests will be treated to "a brand new property".

Kai Speth, the hotel's general manager, said: "With a 25-year history in this same location, we're also the most seasoned hotel in the city. We've got the best of both worlds."

Guestrooms range from 33 to 40 sqm at the Grand Deluxe level, and this extends to more than 83 sqm for an Executive Suite, with the new Presidential Suite commanding more than 221 sqm in space.

There are two new restaurants – Yun Jin, which opened in February, serves Chinese food; and The Steakhouse will serve western cuisine when it opens later this year.

The Club Lounge serves breakfast on high counters, while the window-side alcoves provide privacy. There is also an open show kitchen where guests can view their food being cooked.
